Cee-Lo Lives Under the “Bright Lights, Bigger CIty” (Listen & Download)

I know everyone and there grandma is falling all over themselves to post the new Jamie Foxx and Drake record because, let's face it, anything with Drizzy's name attached gets more traffic than some naked Kim Kardashian pictures (not really, but you'd be surprised how close it is). But I named this site RefinedHype for a reason. So instead, we're going with the latest joint from one of the site's recent favorites, Cee-Lo and his new song "Bright Lights, Bigger City". Sorry teenage girl who stumbled across RefinedHype, go get your Aubrey Graham fix elsewhere.

Like his previous efforts "Fuck You" and "Old Fashioned", "Bright Lights" reaches back for its sound, but instead of '60 soul this one takes some elements of '70s disco and a walking bass line from MJ's classic "Billie Jean" to create a retro dance jam. In other words, a lot of people are going to reflexively hate on this, but those who are still capably of just enjoying music without needing to look cool. In other, other words, your girl will fucking love it, and if don't want her to leave you for a man who will actually dance with her, you better love it too.

Or has Lo finally gone too far and lost the good graces of RefinedHype nation. We'll find out soon. Either way you better believe I'm copping "The Lady Killer" when it drops November 9.
