Yonas Makes “The Transition” to Kind of a Big Deal (Mixtape Listen & Download)

I'm tired of bloggers referring to artists as "up-and-coming". What does that even mean? That they aren't signed to a major? So Mac Miller is up-and-coming, but Ray Jr. isn't? Or is it a quantity thing? You have to sell X number of albums, have x number of Twitter followers, play x number of shows, before you're no longer "up-and-coming"?

So no, I don't really know what to call Yonas, but I do know "up and coming" doesn't feel right. What I do know is that the NYC emcee's been putting out quality music for a minute now, has built up a loyal fanbase too large to be ignored, and true to its name, his new album "The Transition" feels like the start of something even bigger.

Joining Yonas on the guest tip throughout "The Transition" are Logic, Brother Ali, DJ Corbett and Scotty James. In addition to boardwork by Yonas himself, the project features production by Glitch Mob, Sean Ross and more.
