Confession time. I consider myself a pretty big Rapsody fan, but still, I have yet to give "She Got Game" the time it deserves. I checked it out on first listen and downloaded it, but still haven’t really listened to it cover to cover. I am pretty pissed at myself about it too. This tape was one I was looking forward to for a long time, so I really don’t have an excuse for letting it slide. Now that Rapsody dropped the deluxe version of "She Got Game", I figure it’s high time I give the tape its due diligence. To sweeten the deal, she even threw in a few instrumentals, A new song (“Money”), and a “Lonely Thoughts” redux featuring the one and one Big K.R.I.T. How can I say no?

Maybe, subconsciously, I have been holding off listening until I have the free time. The thing I love about Rapsody is her music is so deep and substantive and really requires you to listen; it isn’t just background music. so that's what I am chalking it up to...not my forgetful nature.  As a gentle reminder to listen to the tape, Rap dropped a set of visuals for the Premo produced “Kingship”. The video is a lot like her style, understated and simple yet effective.  There aren't any bells and whistles or nonsense to Rapsody, just quality hip-hop and that is why I love her so much.

As the norm with the "Weekend Rewind", I’ll throw in something old or different from the featured artist to add as just an extra does old weekend dopeness. In addition to being Jamla’s posterchild Rap is also part of the North Carolina collective Kooley High. North Carolina is so overlooked when it comes to the regional discussions, but I would argue they can match up with anyone: J.Cole, B.o.B, Sean Boog, Little Brother, 9th, King Mez, and of course Rapsody.
