#WatchWednesday: TokyoFlash Kisai Upload LCD ConceptPosted by Ru Porter on 09/05/12 | Filed under Style, Watches |
Unless you have a Mac, there’s always an issue of having to back up your precious files for fear of losing any important data in the event that your PC crashes. The sensible thing to do would be to purchase an extra hard drive, but those are only useful if you intend to save large amounts of data, or if you don’t mind lugging around tons of hardware.
So what’s a man to do when all he wants is to store his precious online porn collection in a safe place where no one will find it? Buy a memory stick? Sure, that’ll solve the problem…until you misplace it. My solution? Download all your unmentionables via USB to your TokyoFlash Japan Kisai Upload wristwatch!
Made from high quality stainless steel with a brushed finish, the TokyoFlash Kisai Upload is a rechargeable digital watch. To recharge, just connect it to your computer with the USB cable provided. One full charge takes 3.5 hours with each charge lasting 3-4 months. With more than 300 charges in one battery, it is also replaceable if necessary. And, not only do you get your standard wristwatch features like an alarm, the date and water resistance, the Kisai Upload also has a USB memory slot equipped with a replaceable MicroSD card that let’s the wearer secure data, which can be replaced with any capacity card available. To transfer files to and from the watch, just connect it to your computer via USB. This avoids carrying multiple drives and assures you that your sensitive information is secure. Furthermore, should the memory card get full, unscrew the case back and slide in a new MicroSD as needed.
Now for the bigger question: how the f*ck do you read time on a watch that resembles a barcode?! Simple. The "always on" LCD display presents the time digitally in hours, minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second. Just tilt the watch away from yourself at a 30-45 degree angle and the time display becomes easily recognizable. To utilize other Kisai Upload functions, push the lower button for the date to be displayed (you can set the date in one of three different formats). Push the upper button to activate the colored LED backlight, perfect for late night sessions.
What makes this concept so dope is that the display (as with all TokyoFlash Japan timepieces) is cryptic with a little James Bond flare, making it a perfect gadget for any tech geek and watchologist alike. What’s more, the futuristic design makes any sci-fi movie fanatic feel as if they are part of a super intelligent covert operation.
Still not sold on whether this wrist piece deserves a spot in your collection? Check the video to see if you’d drop $169 on this limited edition timepiece and visit www.TokyoFlash.com for details on other models.
