Despite the fact that "Are You That Somebody" was one of Aaliyah's most successful songs, according to Timbaland the song was actually made in just one night. In a video posted online Timbaland spoke on the creation of the song and how with help from Aaliyah and Static Major they made the hit song in a matter of hours.
