This Week in Hype: The Inaugural Edition (Podcast) Posted by Nathan S. on 11/09/12 | Filed under Downloads, Podcasts, This Week in Hype

I'd be incredibly ironic if I overhyped a podcast on RefinedHype called "This Week in Hype", so here's the real deal. Over the years a lot of people have asked for a RefinedHype podcast and I always said no because while I'm very (some would say overly) confident in my writing skills, I'm not nearly as confident in my ability to say some shit people actually want to listen to.

But I've come to realize that self-doubt is a pretty weak reason to not do something, so fuck it, I'm launching this new podcast series. Every week I'll invite on a guest and we'll discuss the most under-hyped and over-hyped stories of the week. Maybe those guests will be rappers, maybe they'll be random friends, maybe they'll be RefinedHype Nation citizens, maybe they'll be hobos I meet living in a dumpster behind K-Mart. Frankly I'll be making it up as I go.

For the inaugural edition I thought it was only right to grab the homie DJ Z, who runs the mothership with me, to talk about Lady Gaga's demo for "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe", J. Cole's upcoming "Born Sinner" album, the jambalaya of hype that is The Weeknd and more.

Listen below, let me know if you'd like to hear another edition next week, or if I should just start pretending this never happened like I pretend "Rocky V" never happened.

Enjoy, or not....
