Can’t Fail Hip-Hop: Term x Statik x Gibbs x Crooked I “Make It Out Alive” (Listen & Download)

As a general rule I'll press play on anything that involves Freddie Gibbs, and then if Slaughterhouse alum Crooked I and Lawrence, MA representer Termanology are involved too? And Statik Selektah did the beat? And I'm phrasing everything in the form of a question for no apparent reason? Yeah, I'm banging the fuck out of "Make It Out Alive".

There are no surprises here, and that's exactly why I'm digging it. Termanology opens with a solid 16, followed by Gibbs unveiling a relatively mellowed out (for him) but still undeniably gangsta verse and then closed out by the always underrated Crooked throwing down some rewind worthy bars ("The hood was my noose / the more I hang, the more I hang"). Don't over think it - just some dope hip-hop to kick off your week.

More dopeness undoubtedly awaits on Statik and Term (collectively known as 1982)'s upcoming album, "2012", set to drop on May 22. In the meantime, enjoy:
