Rick Ross vs. Jeezy’s Beef is Under Cooked

As a skeptic of everything that goes on inside the culture, I’ve got to come to a conclusion on something. Beef is one part love of competition and one part love of absolute ignorance. And the current so called “jabs” thrown between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy are an easy example of both parts of beef. Not to mention some serious sucker shit.

I’ve looked at these two from both fields, one a formerly chubby drug dealer who once got into it with the beloved Pimp C over how much a key cost (17.5 according to Jeezy of course) and the other a reformed corrections officer with more awkward tattoos and titty flab than a dancer at your favorite hole in the wall club.

Why hasn’t Def Jam created damage control over this is anyone’s guess. I don’t know when exactly the shit started to simmer but my assumption (as are manys) can trace this back to the origins of Rozay’s “B.M.F.” back in May. The media knew that Ross was in escapist land once again but we didn’t care, that Lex Luger beat was both menacing and proud, like Mike Tyson back in the 80s. Jeezy could have taken offense to the chorus since he was down with the actual Black Mafia Family, but then again – Ross got a pass from Big Meech and thus the verbal pole jockeying for someone who’s currently serving a life sentence began.

The bearded one from Miami can claim this summer single wise I’ve never heard so many kids from sea to shining sea proclaim that they’re an incarcerated gang leader, but anything other than that is a complete miss. For everything Ross has with the Diddy push and other things, hasn’t translated well sales wise. Same can be said for Jeezy. The lack of a push from the House That Russell Built after "Trap Or Die 2" released over the summer plus a few pushbacks here and there can only tell me one thing: this shit was manufactured like bologna meat.

Even by releasing mixtapes and making quote unquote retractions about disses, there’s nothing about this that makes me even feel right. It’s not Gucci and Jeezy in that both participants are on the rise and things could get ignorant pretty fast. It’s not T.I. and Lil Flip since somebody didn’t set themselves up for potential failure and then shot themselves in the foot afterwards and it’s definitely not Jay & Nas since well … neither has made a lyrically classic album (I’d say "TM101" was great primarily thanks to the production).

So here we are: the first potential major beef of the year and it’s been put together by a record label desperate to get a platinum album by one of their artists. At least 50 & Shyne gives you greatness from one side despite his refusal to rap and the other who’s making music so terrible using Beats by Dr. Dre for it would mentally retard whoever listened. That’s beef done uncooked.

Jeezy & Ross? Frozen TV dinner steak and I doubt Def Jam will supply us a microwave to get things really hot.
