Two things: 1) Apparently no one told Nicki Minaj that Jay-Z already has a song titled "Young Forever" and 2) Thank the Hip-Hop Gods that I'm not doing a write-up on "Roman Holiday" because I don't think I would have made it. So now that that's out the way let's talk about Nicki Minaj's latest release "Young Forever." On "Young Forever" Nicki Minaj takes the same sing-songy approach she took with "Marilyn Monroe" and I'm glad because I think she's finally giving her biggest fan base, the 13 and under crowd, the type of pop songs they live for. On top of that I'm starting to forget that Nicki Minaj is a rapper and that's definitely a plus.

As a pop song "Young Forever" isn't bad. It's somewhat catchy, but aside from that there isn't anything about the song that stands out for me. Nicki Minaj's little monologue at the end of the song stands out but in more of a cheesy, "is this chick really serious" kind of way. And in the words of the great Forrest Gump, "That's all I got to say about that."
