I’ve always been a firm believer that the 90’s was the golden era in music, television, and music television. MTV’s “Yo! MTV Raps" is one of hip-hop’s most celebrated and groundbreaking music franchises ever. When the series premiered back in ’88 with Fab 5 Freddy, Ed Lover and Doctor Dré, it was the first hip-hop music series on the network. Unfortunately, like all good things, the show ended way too soon in ’95 and music programming hasn’t been the same since then. Regardless, Yo! MTV Raps will always have a special place in the hearts of rap fans.

To celebrate the iconic brand, New Era x MTV have joined forces to bring a unique cap collection. Stu Domanowski, Director of Fan Gear at New Era, spoke on collaboration saying, “It’s right on point with the current trend of bright vibrant colors and retro styles”, and I couldn’t agree more.. The collection includes five MTV logos and three ‘Yo! MTV Raps’ designs, available in both New Era’s 59FIFTY fitted caps and 9FIFTY snapbacks. The caps also feature some of the most recognizable logos throughout MTV history, with the imagery embodying the style of the '80s and '90s.

The two brands will continue to collaborate through 2013 with additional product releases celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Yo! MTV Raps and the rich history and pop culture influence of MTV. The signature collection is available now at select Champs Sports locations, New Era Cap flagship stores and NewEraCap.com with prices ranging from $24.99 to $35.99...
