Believe me, I know how these things work. You hear, "this album is dope!!!" so many times it makes you think that shit must be overrated - nothing could possibly be that good.

So I'm going to write this in the most understated, non-hyped manner possible. (Fitting considering the site's name.) Hey, Macklemore has a new album out, "The Heist", and it's pretty damn good. It won't be for everyone, but personally I'm still playing it over a week since it first dropped and digging it more and more every time I hear it, so that's got to count for something.

Plus, "The Heist" is the #2 album in the country right now, meaning it outsold 99% of the major label projects out there (it basically stomped all over MGK's Interscope-backed "Lace Up"). At the very least if you support independent hip-hop, you've got to respect what Macklemore's done. If fact, there's a pretty cool mini-documentary out there right now:
