Lupe Fiasco Rocks “All Black Everything” (Listen)

Lupe Fiasco All Black Everything
Lord knows I'm not counting on Lupe Fiasco's long-delayed "Lasers" to actually drop until its in my hands, but in the meantime everything I've heard off the album is stellar. Just a couple weeks off the relentlessly political "Words I Never Said" dropped Fiasco is right back on his John Carlos sh*t with new leak "All Black Everything".

Oh damn, shots fired at Jeezy!!! Just kidding, but Lupe is smartly flipping the materialistic bent of Jay's all black everything movement into a black power anthem that re-imagines the world from a afrocentric perspective, from global war to hip-hop: "Eminem fit it in / but then again / he inspired a black rapper tryin to mimic him / and that's hwo really rose up out of Michigan / white rapper by the name of 50 Cent."

I can see what Atlantic's so hesitant to release this - it sounds like the most fearlessly political and revolutionary mainstream album I've heard in years. Which, if course, is exactly what the game needs right now.

Sorry folks, but Lupe hands out cease and desist orders like Kim Kardashian hands out blowjobs to black football players. Stream only.

Yeah, you can definitely tell why Atlantic was hesitant- and to think there are actually people who are saying Lupe sold out. He's got more tracks too, like "State Run Radio" which is supposedly inspired by Trae being banned by Texan radio stations.

And I actually think Lupe got his stuff together. He's created a schedule and is releasing new music over iTunes and other methods at a frequent rate now, (he had like 4 freestyles drop last week, and a different track off the album was played on some radio station), I just hope he keeps it up, and Atlantic realizes that that it's now or never to push. I mean, they definitely have flipped around to an extent.

I think what I'm getting at is- dare I say it- the fans did it. Whether it's label execs capitalizing on the buzz or not.

That 50 Cent line is hilarious. I'll never claim to be a Lupe fan, but the guy has my respect.

Def agree with the comments above. Lupe's absolutely committed to doing his music his way, and he doesn't really give a fuck about the label. I have to say the man's inspiring me.

This track is so dope. That beat. That beat is hugeee. Lupe kills it. This might actually be 'album of the year'. Too early to tell but jeez, that beat.
