UPDATE: It finally dropped. So...yeah....

Having apparently run out of rapper friends to blame for the delay of "Dedication 4", Lil Wayne swears that he'll be releasing his long-awaited awaited new mixtape today. Knowing Weezy, that means the project will likely drop at midnight, or tomorrow, or as a double-disc with "Detox". But since I've got better things to do with my day than wait around for Wayne (like, you know, look at pics of random hot girls), I'm gonna get the post up now and then update.

Even before hearing "Dedication 4", I think we can ask if anyone still cares about hearing a new Lil Wayne mixtape. Ok, scratch that, let me rephrase. I'm sure thousands of people will download anything Wayne drops...do any hip-hop heads care about hearing a new Lil Wayne mixtape? When "Dedication 3" dropped way back in '08, Weezy was at least in the "greatest rapper alive" discussion, but in 2012 he'd rather be skateboarding then making music...and it shows.

Is he too far gone to ever really impress true hip-hop fans again? Or will "Dedication 4" prove that he can still really rap when he wants to...even if he only wants to occasionally now. Only time will tell, but let's just say my hopes aren't high.

When "Dedication 4" does eventually drop, you'll be able to find it at the link below. I'll update with additional info then as well. In the meantime, feel free to start talking shit right now in the comments below.

UPDATE: Surprise, surprise, Wayne pushed this tape back until Monday, 09/03. Well then, in that case, I have an announcement of my own: The tape's finally out, not sure I'm ready to remove this GIF yet though. Emma Stone, how do you feel about Weezy's new mixtape?
