Talib Kweli Goes (Un)Conscious for “Attack the Block” (Listen & Download) Posted by Nathan S. on 09/03/12 | Filed under Top Stories, Downloads, Mixtapes, Talib Kweli

As I wrote when "To the Music" dropped, it's not hard to see where Talib Kweli's head is at these days. After more than two decades carrying the "underground" flag he's feeling a little boxed in. So ahead of his apty-titled "Prisoner of Conscious" album, the BK emcee put together his "Attack the Block" mixtape as a (semi) middle finger to fans who would freak out to see a track list that includes Lil Wayne, Maino and Ace Hood.

Kweli's earned the right to make a statement, but does his statement sound any good? Frankly I don't know, this shit dropped like an hour ago and I've already got a Labor Day playlist lined up. But I'll get listening asap, and I'm counting on RefinedHype Nation members who've already listened to let the rest of us know if we're wasting our time.
