Maybe I'm just getting old. But I don't understand the attraction of cats like Lil B and Odd Future. This nigga just throws a popular person's name all over a joint and says swag a million times. AND CATS ARE FUCKING WITH THIS SHIT?!?! I watched a video with one of them Odd Future niggas where he ate a roach, threw it up, took off his shirt and hung himself. ^naw man it's not as stupid as you want it to be. it actually makes sense, it's called shock value. But there is more, another issue is self-irony. in the culture where everybody takes themselves a lil too seriously (gangsta-schmankstas and gunz and cocke to ya daughter etc) it is a relief to see somebody come out and call himself pretty bitch. But to understand it you must be completely comfortable with yourself. it's like being friends with a gay dude - most of the hardcore gangstaz wouldnt pass that test cause secretly they are afraid of the fact that they become gay too. you must be comfortable with yourself. it's all irny and joke in the end. or you must be 3 years old. |

And how is me being completely comfortable in myself relatable to liking a no talent fuck like Lil B? The reason I don't like him has nothing to do with him calling himself a pretty bitch or Miley cyrus or Roseanne Barr or whatever other female he thinks he is. It's the fact that dude has no substance, no lyrical content, no good beats, basically no talent. But people like yourself are so blinded by the shock value that you mistake this for talent. Eminem was provocative, had shock value, and was honest. He also had good lyrics and concepts that supplemented that. Redman said shocking, funny, jokey type stuff. He also had lyrical content and a crazy flow. Do you understand where I'm coming from. It's one thing to be a shock value hoe and make people who see the lack of any real talent, other than saying random "funny" and/or weird nasty shit, as just not getting it or being too serious. We have these days mistaken provocative, controversial, crass and disgusting as talent. Any way, if you're a fan, have fun with that. But don't try to sit here making it seem like Lil B is going over people's heads and is secretly this genius the mainstream and people like yourself try to make him seem like. |

^Well, I never said Lil B had any talent. I was just stressing that there is a way to enjoy his music. His music is not independent of normal lyrical dudes music. It's like an awkward parody, shock value left shit. I dont listen to him regularly, maybe like 3-4 times a montn. So I agree with you on most points. My previous post was a secret fail, because I was trying to explain a joke, and when you explain the joke it aint funny anymore. I just love the self irony in his music thats it. the dude never said he was dope Perhabs the reason I'm arguing here is that some people take him a lil too seriously and see him as "the destroyer of hip-hop" and what not, and I think it's wrong. let that boy cook |

perhabs the point is i is one thing to try hard and fail and your music sucks, and it other thing making your music suck on purpose. Lil B makes his music suck in some special retarded ways. it's one thing when you listen to recent busta and his verse sucks (he had a couple of those) which makes you frustrated you even spent time on this shit, and it the other thing when you turn on lil b and his music sucks in some hilarious ways. #swag and eating a roach was total #swag |

You know what's funny? This is so mediocre in every level that what upsets me the most in the end is the fact he's constantly out of pace... it's so fvcking annoying, and that's something I can't ignore.
