When Kendrick Lamar starts using his demon, Dr. Dre-infused voice on a record and also throws in a little aggressive alliteration you know it's about to go down - and down it goes on the unexpected gem that is "The Jig Is Up (Dump'n)." Despite just releasing a highly-praised debut album, Kendrick has yet to put the brakes on and he goes in just as hard as ever on the J. Cole and Canei Finch-produced record.

"The Jig Is Up (Dump'n)" is bold from beginning to end as Kendrick attacks the grim, organ-heavy beat with the fervor of an emcee with something to prove. But don't let the grim production on the song fool you, there is a little unexpected humor on the record thanks to Kendrick's minor shot at hating-a** rapper Shyne.

Also, if "The Jig Is Up (Dump'n)" is any indicator of what a joint J. Cole and Kendrick album might sound like then I think we're going to need that one ASAP.
