Earlier last week, Hip-Hop Photographer Johnny Nunez hosted a VIP Charity Event to launch his collaboration with New Era Cap Co, Inc. celebrating the influential work of the EYE CAN Foundation. The non-profit organization’s mission is to improve the lives and opportunities of foster care youth and the visually impaired. The signature 59FIFTY fitted reflects Johnny’s hip hop roots and illustrates his inspiration of teaching visually impaired kids how to overcome their handicap and embrace photography. The Johnny Nunez cap also features a unique characteristic in that it is inscribed in Braille on the brim which quotes "history repeats itself, opportunity does not, be ready. With only 78 available, this fitted cap is extremely limited.

Johnny Nunez, whose clients include Jay-Z, Diddy, Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons; has earned a name for himself amongst Hip Hop's most respected artists and industry elite. He is often the only photographer allowed into private parties and exclusive events within the music industry. When asked what made him want to form a partnership, he said, "I feel this event is historic and that we are doing something that has never been done before. I am creating fashion by incorporating Braille for the visually impaired and blind. I am honored to have this opportunity.”

Held at New Era’s flagship store in New York City’s NoHo District, the event featured music from DJ Cassidy, complimentary cocktails from Nude Vodka as well as some never revealed images from Johnny’s personal portfolio available for auction. According to Nunez, 40% of the proceeds will go towards his foundation.
