Jay Z Decoded
Jay-Z and Bing, the Microsoft search engine with the goofy commercials, have teamed up for a unique gaming competition/scavenger hunt that will lead up to the release of Jay-Z’s new book “Decoded.” “Decoded,” which is Jay-Z’s first book, will take a look at the inspiration for the lyrics to some of the Brooklyn rapper’s most popular songs.

As part of the Jay-Z/Bing collab, fans of the rapper will search for actual pages from “Decoded” through the help of the Bing search engine. Pages will be placed in various locations throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan, and even London.

“The immersive journey will take players from the projects in the Brooklyn neighborhood where JAY-Z grew up and the London streets where he found inspiration, to the building of his empire in Manhattan and beyond,” states a press release for the game. “Fans physically in those locations and those playing online with Bing will be offered never-before-experienced insights into JAY-Z's highly personal process.”

Players will also be entered to win a grand prize that includes a trip to the New Year’s Eve Jay-Z and Coldplay concert in Las Vegas.

The game launches today, October 18 while “Decoded” will be released on November 16.

Of course it all depends on how they pull it off, but it sounds like a dope idea. Someone give it a try and let us know if it's worth the time.
