These days, all you see and hear on the news is about which country is on the brink of war, the economic crisis and other information that drives fear into your everyday life. I’m tired of hearing nothing but bad news, that’s why I decided to write about positive and inspiring stories that are overlooked by the mainstream media in "It's All Good". This week....

For those like myself who are fortunate enough to grow up and live in country with clean drinking water, we often tend to forget that many other people in the world don’t have access to it. For example, in the Kenyan village of Amboseli one in five children die before the age of five because of the lack of clean water.

To end this struggle that many people in the world face, Water is Life created a campaign to raise awareness. For the campaign, Water is Life followed Nkaitole, a four-year-old from Amboseli featuring his bucket list of things he would like to do before he dies. This makes Nkaitole one of the youngest people in the world to have created a bucket list.

“I’m going on an adventure,” he says of his first trip outside of his village. “Traveling across Kenya … doing all the things I’ve always wanted to do.”

The powerful and emotional footage of Nkaitole shows him crossing off everything he has ever wanted to do in life and really driving home the message to the viewers that he and others like him might not make it past their fifth birthday.



“I flew like a bird,” he said of his first airplane flight.

Nkaitole got to race a car, beat the fastest man in a race, see the ocean for the first time, and even got his first kiss. The producers of this campaign chose this powerful message to inspire caring people to do something about this and donate to the cause so that kids don’t have to worry about writing a bucket list until much later in life.

Even with the water crisis today Nkaitole remains optimistic about his future. "One day I will be a Maasai warrior,” he says.
