Three Reasons Why I Wasn’t Terribly Impressed With This New “Iron Man 3 Trailer” (Video)

Posted by Danielle Harling on 10/23/12 | Filed under Videos, Movies

So here's the "Iron Man" franchise in an incredibly vague nutshell: "Iron Man" was hella dope, "Iron Man 2" was good but nowhere near as dope as the first, Iron Man's cameo in "The Avengers" was pretty pimpin', and as far as "Iron Man 3" is concerned all we have for now is this new trailer. I will admit that the trailer has me moderately psyched for Spring 2013, but I've still got a couple of gripes with our first "Iron Man 3" sneak peek.

Tony Stark Takes A Backseat To The Mandarin:
"Some people call me a terrorist, I consider myself a teacher. Lesson number one, heroes, there is no such thing." That quote pretty much made the entire trailer for me. But it kinda irks me that you see zero personality from Stark. No clever one-liner's, no cutesy quips, nothing. Just, "I can't sleep because someone is intent on ruining me boo hoo, boo hoo."

The "Day After Tomorrow"-Inspired Mansion Destruction Scene: You ever watch a movie where all the best scenes were in the movie trailer? I'm sure they likely needed something to wow us with in this "Iron Man 3" trailer, but I really wish they would have saved this part for the film. Now it's going to be at least 40% less exciting on the big screen, not to mention it looked a little on the phony side. I'm just saying...You've got a multi-million-dollar budget so there's no need to blow up Barbie's Malibu mansion.

What The Hell Is This Movie About: There's one-hundred people who want to kill him, he wants to protect his boo, something will be blown up every five minutes. Sorry folks, but that's all I got from this trailer. I didn't read the comic book, sue me. Maybe I'd have a better clue if I did, but I don't see much of a plot based on the trailer alone.
