“Hol Up”, Kendrick Lamar is Better Than J. Cole? (Listen & Download)

After crushing heads with three deeply serious records - "HiiPower", "Sex With Society" and "Ronald Reagan Era" - new west coast leader Kendrick Lamar decided to take his foot off the gas on his new leak "Hol Up" and give listeners a more smoothed out, relaxed sound. Take a deep breath "Section80" fans.

Of course Kendrick being Kendrick he can't just make a chill record to vibe to and insists on working in some pretty deep reflections on the falsity of Christianity and his troubled youth: "“I lived my twenties at two years old” But other than that, good times! In all seriousness, this is why I'm actually anticipating Kendrick's debut album more than J. Cole's. Seriously. Cole has all this pressure on him to be a great emcee and make commercial radio hits (ex. "Work Out"), while Kendrick seems completely comfortable only making the music he wants to make.
