Could It Be? A Freddie Gibbs Song That Isn’t Dope? Meet “All Gone Fuck” (Listen & Download)

Let's get one thing straight right off the bat. I fucks with Freddie Gibbs heavy - he's literally my pick for the best flow in rap. And not only has he been cranking out some of the rawest hip-hop we've heard in years, the man's being incredible consistent. He just doesn't have off days tracks.

Which is why I'm more than a little surprised by "All Gone Fuck". When I saw Gibbs had dropped a new one I pressed play like the world's most gangster ass kid unwrapping a present on Christmas. And then the track started and...eh. It was a strange feeling to not dig a Gibbs joint, like watching Blake Griffin throw down a lay-up on the breakaway.

"All Gone Fuck" isn't wack, but it definitely isn't dope either. In large part I blame the beat, which sounds like something Too Short turned down - and Problem and 211's verses aren't exactly helping either. Either way, this one's the first Gibbs track I can remember in a long time that won't be finding its way onto my iTunes.

Oh well, back to "Cold Day in Hell". There's still no one better than Gibbs.
