Fails of the Week: Drake Gets Emotional, “Chinese” Food Gets Racist & MorePosted by Nathan S. on 10/18/13 | Filed under Top Stories, Humor, Fails of the Week, Fails |
The dictionary defines "Schadenfreude" as pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others. In that case, we're about to get Schadenfreude like a motherfucker up in this piece.
For the latest edition of "Fails of the Week" (aka your favorite running column that doesn't involve mystery booty) I tackle the tragic effect Drake's latest run of emotions, the new worst video you've ever seen, "Chinese Food", and more.
Enjoy...
“I’m so sick of people saying that I’m like… lonely and emotional and like associating me for like… longing for a women. I hate that, man. It bothers me so much...”
This week, after he kicked Future off his tour and then let him back on a couple days later, a new hour long interview aired with Drake aired in which he complained that he'd been unfairly boxed into the "lonely and emotional" box. Now, RefinedHype Nation know I'm no "every rap has to be hard to be dope" guy, but come on now Drizzy. You're sick of people saying you're emotional? I wonder where they could have possibly gotten that impression of you?
Drake complaining about people thinking he's emotional is like Rick Ross compaining that people think he raps about money. Go ahead Aubrey, make the ladies
faint. Just be honest about what it is you're doing.
And as long as we're on the subject of Aubrey Graham, this "Drake's New Friends" is hilarious.
In internet terms Rebecca Black's "Friday" feels like it came out seventy years ago, but it's revernarations are still being felt. I'm willing to argue that it was really Black who ushered in the era of the purposefully terrible YouTube music video.
But the guys who made "Friday" haven't been resting on their laurels. They've been contining to pump out atrocious videos like "Chinese Food", although this time around they get a little more racist. So, you know, good times.
Congratulations, we're all dumber for having watched that.
I'm gonna make this "Fails of the Week" interactive. Sweet baby jesus knows that this picture The Fat Guy Who Yells tweeted out of him and Rick Ross is begging for someone to throw a hilarious caption underneath it. Have at it my people. One million RefinedHype bonus points to the funniest entry.
Listen, I've been fooled before. In the age of the internet it's almost impossible to tell the difference between someone who's actually terrible and someone who's being intentionally terrible for YouTube views. But there's just something in my soul that says my man Ice JJ Fish is the real deal.
Either way, you've now been given fair warning. You're about to get sucked into a solid hour of a YouTube vortex. I mean, there's no way you're watching this "Thuggish Ruggish Bone" video and not crying tears of faily joy. More brilliance here.
