Counterpoint: Diggy Kinda Killed This J. Cole Diss “Fall Down” (Listen & Download)

J. Cole Diggy Simmons

While J. Cole's diss was removed from the final version of "I'm a Fool", the live version sent some shots that given recent history, we can only assume were aimed in the direction of one Mr. Diggy Simmons:

"The game need balance / Woke up this morning to the rumors of n*ggas wildin’
Picture me hatin’ on a young nigga with talent / Album flopped but it’s cool, he caked out on his allowance."

Well, well, looks like Cole might have gotten more than he bargained for. It only took Diggy twenty-four hours to respond and, yeah, he actually kind of held his own:

“I guess I rattled your snaggle-tooth, you know better
I thought ‘J’ stood for Jermaine, not jetsetter
Seen me and shook my hand, coppin’ pleas in person
Now you act like less than a man, mentioning me in verses
You used to have dreams of my big sister kissing you,
Now you having nightmares of her little brother dissing you”

Well then...no one's saying that Diggy could really mess with Cole lyrically, but if Jermaine thought he could scare off the youngin, he apparently thought wrong. Whoever's writing them, those are lines that have to at least be respected.

So now Cole's in a pretty weird place. Those lines are too strong for him to just brush off the "beef" by saying Diggy's too weak to be worth his time, like Pusha did with Lil Wayne. But what, he's going to launch into a full-fledged launch battle with a millionaire teenager?

For the record, Diggy has now officially been involved in better battle tracks then Common, Drake and Lil Wayne. Strange times we live in my friends. Strange times. The Apocalypse very well could be nigh.
