Even Ex-Crack Dealers Like Danny Brown Get “Grown Up” (Listen & Download)

I've come to realize that Danny Brown is one of those love em or hate em artists. And while I can only bang the man's shit in small doses (the same holds true for a lot of rappers, by the way), I'm definitely more on the love side of the spectrum, if for no other reason than he's a truly original rapper in the age of copy and paste music.

So will new laid back joint "Grown Up" convince those who don't feel Danny's darker material that he's a legit emcee? Probably not, but hopefully it will at the very leas show that he's much more than a crazy haircut and songs about doing enough drugs to OD a beluga whale.

And as long as we're here, ten years ago doing a song for a car company like Scion would have resulted in an avalanche of criticism. Now? I don't know a single person who really has a problem with it, mostly because everyone seems to realize that no one's making a living off a record label anymore - you gotta get that rent money wherever you can.
