Between the 200 and change emails I get everyday and the constant onslaught of random interwebs craziness, it's inevitable that some deserving rappers don't make it onto RefinedHype's pages. But looking back on 2011 I didn't make a bigger mistake than not giving more time to Danny Brown.

By all accounts Danny Brown's not just crazy, he's genuinely, authentically crazy - and can also rap like a motherfucker. He's one of the few guys who can reference both "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and crack whores who are 19 but look like they're 30 in the same song and know what he's talking about.

Based in large part on his "XXX" free album and some fantastically walnuts videos, Brown's converted me to a believer and I promise he'll be seeing some more time in front of RefinedHype Nation in 2012. In the meantime, I've thrown together a quick strike collection of music and videos from Brown for anyone else who also needs to get caught the fuck up with the Detroit rhymer.
