Quick Hit: Common is a Gangsta Rapper & Other Stupid Shit Conservatives Say

Today Michelle Obama invited some artists over to the White House to read poetry as a "see, Americans can be cultured too" kind of thing. Sounds like a nice, gentle event, right? Nope! There was a rapper there!!! And it wasn't just any rapper, it was renowned gangster rapper Common, the hardest, most misogynistic rapper to ever touch a mic. Everyone run!!!!!!

Or at least that's what conservative publication The Daily Caller had to say as it demanded that the First Lady ban Common from the event. And what did they use as proof of Common's well known advocacy of mass violence, brutal sex and hardcore drug use? His "Def Poetry Jam" piece "A Letter to the Law", which, I'd like to point out, he delivered wearing a knit hat and jacket that could only be described as "cuddly".



It's not like I'm surprised that conservatives are still playing the "all hip-hop is a crime against humanity" game, I just thought that at least poor Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr. would have risen above the gangster rap label. Oh well, at least racism in America is finally dead now that Obama's president.
