From "Raw" to "Sweet" to a track-by-track video breakdown, over the past few weeks Common's been making new dope hip-hop like Kid Capri (used to) make tapes. It's the kind of promo blitz usually reserved for wack music that needs the hype, but everything I've heard off "The Dreamer, The Believer" has pointed to a last minute Album of the Year.
Well, now we can give Common Sense's album that same hype but actually know what we're talking about. One of the few men to ever tap this has just unleashed a full stream of "Dreamer, Believer". It's a risky move that more conservative labels and artists wouldn't touch, but Com's banking on the fact that more people will be inspired to pre-order the album than rip it off YouTube, and frankly I agree.
Frankly I haven't had the chance to really listen yet - guess what I'll be spending the next hour doing - so I"m going to be leaning on RefinedHype Nation for some quality analysis. What to y'all think? Should we do a #TeamReview?
