I know I'm a rap nerd, but I've also had sex with eleventy-million women, and let's be honest, you don't attract that many fly ladies by reciting Dilla's discography. So I keep a steady stream of R&B pumping through the headphones, and there might not be another new school R&B artist I dig more than BJ The Chicago Kid.

I mean, just listen to this new "Honey" joint; now that's how you lay down some serious smoothness. Plus, I think we all need to take a moment to acknowledge the brilliance of that art work. At the very least the man's earned a listen with that alone.

Hopefully a new project from BJ will appear on the horizon soon, but in the meantime I highly recommend his previous album, "Pineapple Now & Laters" if you haven't already copped it. In the meantime, enjoy...

Oh, and RIP to Aaliyah.
