The rest of the interwebs is going to get a much shorter story behind this video (skip to the bottom if you just want talkin and drinkin), but since this is the place where it all started, RefinedHype Nation is getting the absurdly detailed breakdown.

For a long time people, from RefinedHype Nation to my co-workers at the mothership/Complex, have been asking me for video because, you know, it's fucking 2014 and online video is kind of a whole thing. At first I said no because I just didn't think of myself as an "in front of the camera" guy, but eventually I agreed under two conditions: 1) It has to be something original 2) I get to drink.  

Incredibly, those conditions were granted and...well fuck then, I looks like I'm going to have to figure out how the fuck you film things. I spent the next few months learning about camera equipment and location fees (and drinking) and finding a film crew and shooting and editing (and drinking) and securing the music and uploading (and drinking) and the eleventy billion other small obstacles and delays you have to overcome to create something you believe in, whether it's an album or a new interview series.

Re-watching this I can feel self-critical - I have a way to go before I can really relax in front of a camera, even with a few shots in me - but ultimately I'm proud of it, incredibly grateful to everyone** who helped make it a reality, and have a renewed appreciation for all the artists out there working to create their own slice of dopeness. 

We filmed an entire season of "3 Shots With" featuring drinkerviews* with everyone from Jean Grae to Wax and I'll be rolling them out over the next couple months. Speaking of which, let me shut up and get to the show.
