Kid Cudi, Rostam Batmanglij & Bethany Contentino Go “All Summer” for Converse (Listen & Download)

As part of Converse's ongoing summer music series (a.k.a. Operation Get Hipsters and Black People to Buy Our Shoes) the home of Chuck Taylor has commissioned Kid Cudi, along with indie rockers Rostam Batmanglij (of Vampire Weekend) & Bethany Contentino (of Best Coast), to put together a collabo track and the result is the appropriately up-tempo "All Summer".

Considering two-thirds of the operation is on the rock side the track is much more guitar and drum oriented than hip-hop, but it's still interesting in a "my dad pays for my apartment in Brooklyn so I can work on my 'art'" kind of way. Am I done talking shit? Nope. No hate, but doesn't Cudi essentially drop the exact same cadence and flow on every track? You could take his verse here, add a few "whoa whoa whoa"s, put it on "RevOfEv' and you wouldn't notice.

Maybe some folks who are feeling this more can try to win me over. Have at it.
