It’s Gonna Take a Bold Man to Rock These Gourmet “Ocelot” Sneakers

It seems as though leopard print is a popular trend among men these days.First Kevin Hart comes out at the 2012 VMA’s with a full-blown cheetah blazer, and now Cali-based Gourmet Footwear dropped their 2012 Fall/Winter printed-sneaker collection. Branded as “Ocelot”, the collection sees the pattern drawing inspiration from Gourmet ‘s Dieci 2 SN, Quattro Skate S, and 35 LP models.

The Dieci 2 SN, is enveloped in a buttery-soft suede positioned atop a white sole, while the Quattro Skate S is given a two-panel construction with black suede along the exterior toe box, with the tongue and interior sides draped in canvas-like material. And the third and final shoe, which happens to be my favorite, boasts the simplest design of the Ocelot pack, as the 35 is mostly black mesh against full-grain Japanese leather, with a white midsole and coinciding black outsole.

Although, I have my reservations about men who wear anything with print, I’m a sucker for striking designs worn by a fashion-forward male. Personally, if you have enough balls to wear pink without questioning your manhood, then I have no qualms about you rocking these on occasion for an added upscale-casual look -- especially if it’s done tastefully. After all, it’s not the shoes that make the man, but the way in which you piece your entire outfit together!

The Gourmet 35 LP’s come in two colorways – black and white for $120, and Quattro Skates cost $100, with the Dieci 2 SN’s retailing for $90. For more info, visit www.gourmetfootwear.com.
