New music from Drake and Eminem in the same morning? I'm surprised the interwebs haven't exploded. As I wrote on his "Despicable (Freestyle)", contrary to popular belief it may just turn out the the drugs were stopping Slim from doing his best work. Freshly sober, Marshall has been absolutely crushing everything he breathes on, and his new single "Not Afraid" is no different. This is Em at his most introspective - a banger this isn't - but for all his acting out, no one let's us inside his head like Em, and there's no way anyone can listen to this track and not hang on every word. Still, I feel like Eminem may have made this track more for himself than us. I'm not sure if "make a hip-hop song confessing your drug abuse" is one of the twelve steps, but this is definitely part of the sobriety process for him.

With that said, Eminem, homeboy, you really need to stop singing. That "Holler if you feel like you've been down the same road" was so bad it was almost funny, which I'm assuming wasn't the effect you were going for. Anyway, if you didn't already figure it out from the sharp snares, "Not Afraid" was produced by Boi-1da and is the first single of Em's upcoming "Recovery" album (previously titled "Relapse 2") which is currently set to drop on June 22, although we all know release dates can be shakier than Drake's knee.
