Curtiss King Doesn’t Hand Out a “Freebie” (Listen & Download)

In no other field than entertainment are people expected to work for free for years on the long-shot that they'll get paid. Would you take a job at Starbucks if they told you, "Make coffee for a couple years and if you're really good at it, and make some connections, to the right customers, then maybe, maybe we'll pay you." Of course not. They don't call it the grind for nothing.

Cali emcee/producer Curtiss King is only too familiar with said grind, as evidenced by his new track "Freebie". An anthem for all those working too hard for too little (a.k.a. almost everyone looking at this site), "Freebie" is first and foremost a monstrous beat from Tae Beast/Top Dawg Entertainment. Those horns are ill. But Curtiss doesn't get drowned out by the power of the production, rising above it for f-you-pay-me rhymes I think we can all relate to. In other words, this track is dopeness.

Say it with me now; "Motherfuck a freebie."

"Freebie" will be off King's "Jet Pack on E" album, set to drop on August 16. Download link and player is under the preview video.
