God it’s been way too long since I’ve done a “Rap Lines That Make No F**king Sense” - lord know there’s been no shortage of non-nonsensical lyrics, but Nicki Minaj’s opening verse on this morning’s “Blazin” inspired me to get back on my game. As always, to qualify a line can’t merely be bad - it has to contain some fundamental error (ex. Jay-Z’s “My .38 revolve like the sun around the Earth). Let’s get down to business…
“We were ballin hard, it was just the 9th inning. (It’s early)”
I’d be willing to make the case that when anyone talks about “ballin” they’re never talking about baseball, but Jones apparently really wanted to end up on this list and decided to demonstrate a complete lack of understanding about when a 9th inning takes place (hint, it’s not early). And it’s not like “9th” rhymed with anything. He could have just as easily said “first” or “fifth”...or, come to think of it, pretty much any inning except the ninth. Jim obviously needs to hire a ghostwriter who watches sports.

umm about Blazin....I think Randy refers to Randy Glasbergen, who writes cartoons, and he has a series of cartoons related to a dog. ...hm...? Maybe dare is a failure attempt at play of words dare/deer?....no idea here |

I always thought the "money hanging out the anus" line was dumb. Though, polar bears have black skin with white fur, which is what Weezy was getting at. Nice list anyways. |

Everyone spoke on the weezy line already, for the nicki lines..... the randy line was in reference to the american idol judge, the andy line was in reference to andy dick, and the dare line was in reference to bambi the deer. |

Tackling these in order; Lil Wayne - Weezy doesn't say "like black and white", or "like black skin and white hair", he says "like black and white hair", meaning hair that is black and white. So yes, there is a possibility that Wayne is up on his polar bear biology and was also alluding to their skin color, but I'm still assuming he was high as fuck and confused them with pandas. Isn't that the much more likely possibility? Nicki: I obviously don't watch American Idol, but now that y'all explain it, yes, it makes sense. As for the "deer"/"dare" thing, it still doesn't fit the pause flow simile formula. That's just mispronouncing shit. And if she did mean to make the "deer"/"dare" reference, that's a fucking terrible line. And finally, huge props to ITSxWILL for throwing out a new line. I suppose maybe Drake got the ticket on his windshield and then put it on his dash? But it's more likely that "dash" just rhymed and Drake didn't think anyone would notice. I'm giving you credit for a No Fucking Sense line. You're the man. |

with the weezy verse i'm willin to go out on a limb and say black and white are two opposites so he might have been referring to them metaphorically as him being bipolar not actually finishing off the literal bearr thought. enhhhhhh :/ |
