Fails of the Week: Ross Needs a New Label Name, Kanye’s Ego Gets Even Bigger & MorePosted by Nathan S. on 12/02/11 | Filed under Top Stories, Features, Fails of the Week |
When Rick Ross named his label Maybach Music he was certainly trying to convey the sense of outrageous opulence and unparalleled elitism that the Maybach brand conveyed. Now that brand conveys failure, bankruptcy and ill conceived plans.
Shockingly it turns out that there just aren’t enough people out there willing to drop $375,000 on a car, prompting Daimler Autos to announce this week that it will cease producing its Maybach line after sustaining large financial losses.
“I dropped 400 on that Maybach out the lot / in retrospect it was a terrible investment / finding replacement parts is a bitch now that they’ve discontinued the line / like 10K for a fucking carburetor you had to order from Europe? / get the fuck out of here / replacing a windshield wiper’s a fucking ordeal now / fuck / Maybach Music, the realest shit I ever wrote.”
