Wow, I’m glad that’s over. Things were getting really heated between MC Hammer and Jay-Z after Hammer Time released that vicious diss track, but Hammer wisely decided to pull the plug before the beef really got out of control, this week saying that he had forgiven Jay. “As a responsible veteran of twenty something years of this [Hip-Hop]. I can’t leave it out there with tensions…I’m accepting Jay-Z at his word. Now let’s move on.”
I’m sorry, that should have read: “This week MC Hammer ended a beef he completely invented, released a terrible video/track for, and that Jay-Z laughed off and didn’t take seriously at all.” Let’s all agree to pretend like this never happened, ok?
Actually, this whole thing got Hammer more attention than he even remotely deserves. Maybe I should give it a try…“Hey Nas. Yeah, it’s me, Nathan S., that writer you don’t know exists. Fuck you. I can’t believe you said that thing about me that you didn’t actually say! What’s that? You don’t apologize? Well then, I accept your apology. I’m glad we could put this behind us.”

Yeah Kanye Didn't owe anyone an apology and I think he was leaning towards that during the interview but the way Lauer painted the picture, he made it seem that Bush didn't deserve to be called a racist. I think Kanye was going to say "sorry, I said that because I felt strongly about it. But what I said still stands". I think Ye felt very uneasy because, lets face it, Matt Lauer can be a real D-Bag to certain artist. So when they played the clip he felt like he was being attacked, I understand that. I'm sure he wants to put September 14, 2009 behind him. |
