What Happened to…Black Rob & Jin (Listen, Download & Learn)

Today I saw two projects from two artists that made me say, "Oh yeah, I was wondering what happened to that dude," so I thought I'd take a moment to get RefinedHype nation caught up on just what the f**k Black Rob and Jin have been up to, or not up to, for the past few years.

Black Rob

Where He Was
In the mid-90's Bad Boy was on top of the game, and Diddy (Puff Daddy at the time) was bringing Black Rob along for the ride. Fueled by his massive hit "Like Whoa", Black Rob's debut album "Life Story" went platinum. He then immediately fell into one-hit wonder status, failed to produce another hit and was jailed in 2006 for larceny and robbery. In other words, career fell apart like whoa.

Where He Is Now
Fresh out of prison, Black Rob's attempting a comeback with his new project "Game Tested & Street Approved" set to drop later this year. A few leaks from "Game Tested" have begun to surface, like today's "Delusional", and while it doesn't sound like Rob will be regaining his former glory any time soon, the boy's not bad (pun intended).

For the record, this is White Rob, and this is Black Rob. Just so we're clear.

Jin

Where He Was
Gaining national notoriety after becoming 106 & Park's first Freestyle Champion, Jin became the first Asian-American emcee to sign to a major label after inking with Ruff Ryders in 2002. Whether it was because America wasn't ready for an Asian rapper or he just couldn't make singles like he could freestyle, his debut album bombed and it was pretty much a wrap.

Where He Is Now
After moving to Hong Kong was the last few years, where he still resides, Jin has re-signed with Universal and is preparing to make a comeback of his own, recently releasing his new freestyle mixtape "Say Something" to get the world warmed up

Almost Forgotten	"career fell apart like whoa." Haha I had to go back and read that as if it were a line in that song. Made it 2.4x funnier

Nathan S.	@Almost Forgotten Ha, welcome to my head. I spent a solid 30 minutes thinking of new lines for Black Rob: "Diddy makes me get him sandwiches like whoa". H
