Video Breakdown: Lupe Speaks For The People On “Words I Never Said”

I’ve got to give props to Lupe Fiasco; he put out quite the interesting music video for his Lasers track “Words I Never Said.” In the video, which debuted this week on the very music-less MTV, Lupe is one of only a handful of people willing to speak out in a society where people are forced to wear muzzles to keep them from speaking. Sounds pretty crazy, right? It’s definitely crazy enough to warrant a video breakdown.

0:25 – What’s really going on here?

1:15 – Wow, that’s crazy. Imagine a world where people couldn’t speak. That’s some scary stuff.

1:28 – I love how they’re incorporating actual footage into the video.

1:57 – You’d think that in a society where you’re physically forced from speaking Blackberry’s would be banned. That truly shows you the power of RIM.

2:13 – Watch your back Lupe!

2:47 – Hmm, judges from different countries sitting in front of the criminal line up background. Now that’s a statement.

2:59- Will Skylar Grey ever be in a music video?

3:21 – “If you don’t become an actor you’ll never be a factor.” Truer words were never spoken.

3:49 – I’ve always wondered if brainwashing people by showing them various images actually works. I really can’t see how it would.

4:37 – Oh no, please don’t tell me Lupe’s about to try and fight someone. I was really trying to hold off on the jokes.

5:05 – Lupe to the rescue. About damn time.

5:29 – These people were acting like those muzzles were locked to their faces or something. I didn’t think it would be that easy to take off.
