Timbaland Continues Dope Rap Boycott, Drops “Break Ya Back” (Listen & Download)

Remember when Timbaland was considered one of the best producers in hip-hop? Yeah, that shit was a long, long time ago. Since the "Big Pimpin" days Timbo's been dedicated to making pop records with Nelly Furtado and the Pussycat Dolls, even going so far as to say he was done with hip-hop...and things haven't really changed with new single 'Break Ya Back".

Why won't the man work with rappers anymore? Why? The "Break Ya Back" beat is actually nice in an understated club anthem way, and I've got no problem with "G6" girl Dev on the hook (she's a good fit), but really Timbo? Really? The only rapping you wanted on this shit was your weak sauce rhymes? Really? T.I. would have crushed this. At this point it seems like Timbaland's actively going out of his way to have even decent rappers rhyme over his beats...

...sigh, fucking whatever. "Break Ya Back" is off Timbaland's "Shock Value 3" album, which I'm not even going to bother putting a release date on (what, you were planning on getting it?).

p.s. - The homie Richard pointed out that Dev compares her vagina to a popular brand of salad dressing in her verse. So, yeah, there's that.
