Nas and Damian Marley refuse to go away. A week after their collabo album "Distant Relatives" debuted at number five, the dynamic duo hung on for another week at the number ten slot. Not too shabby for a record without a big single. (If only they'd recruited will.i.am. for a "OMG Remix" they'd probably be number one.) Sadly it's gotten to the point where any truly quality album making an appearance in the top ten is cause for celebration, so let's not be shy about celebrating. In fact, I'm drunk right now. (True? Could you tell the difference?)

The Refined Take:

1) Oh fuck you Katy Perry and that "California Gurls" bullshit. That's all. Just fuck you. (Not one of my more eloquent moments.)

2) Let's take a moment to truly appreciate how remarkable Eminem's success is with "Not Afraid". I mean, you're talking about a number five track about rehab and sobriety without a catchy hook from a deeply controversial artist. The vast majority of his hits have been comic endeavors, so this change of pace is truly remarkable. The man's just on a different level right now.

3) Shout out to Leela James and her new album "My Soul", which is impressively making it's debut at 37 (pretty damn good for a relatively unknown soul singer). I'm not saying it was RefinedHype's endorsement that did it, I'm just saying James owes us a drink. (Ok, so I'm just desperately trying to get Leela James to have a drink with me. Can you blame a man?)

4) Ouch. I just noticed that Rick Ross' new single "Super High" is currently sitting at the number 173 slot. Yep, that's not a typo. Not 17 - 173. The artists directly ahead of him? Jewel, the cast of Glee and some dude named Aaron Fresh. Bawse!

5) This week's Mr. Irrelevant Award, given to the song that sits at the absolute bottom of the charts (the number 200 spot), goes to..Timbaland ft. One Republic's "I Apologize", a track that feels like it came out in 1995. I don't know who these people are who are still buying this song, but I don't know any of them.
