Theophilus London and
A$AP Rocky now that is one interesting pairing of artists. Now put these two artists on a song that heavily samples a newer rendition of Peggy Lee's "Big Spender" and that's when things possibly get a little too interesting. It's almost as if Theophilus and A$AP's song relies a little too much on this newer version of "Big Spender." In fact, one might think they're listening to the wrong song thanks to the first 15 seconds or so. But the beat finally drops after about 30 seconds and the song finally starts to make sense. And "Big Spender" does sport a pretty nice beat courtesy of DJ Carnage.
Also, I had no idea that Theophilus was this nice lyrically. He almost gives A$AP a run for his money. Despite Theophilus' impressive lyricism I'm gonna go ahead and say that the highlight of "Big Spender" is in fact the cover art. I don't know if it's the prison poses, the fact that they both look like "Boyz N The Hood" extras, or one of the many other intriguing aspects but this is one hilarious cover.
