The Roots’ “One Time” Might Be A Lil Depressing But It Sure Sounds Dope (Listen & Download)

Now this right here is a solid track. Not that I expected anything less from The Roots or anything like that, but "One Time" is one of those songs you know is a gem only a matter of seconds into hearing it. For "One Time" The Roots enlisted the help of both Phonte and Dice Raw who both prove to to be a very welcomed addition to the song.

"One Time" takes on a pretty somber tone both lyrically and production-wise, but trust me that doesn't keep the song from being dope. I am a little on the fence about the hook though. I kind of hate how it sounds, but at the same time it's pretty meaningful and it also fits the song well as far as content/tone is concerned. So maybe around the eight listen the hook might actually become somewhat enjoyable.
