(No, this post isn't an excuse to post some hilarious Ari Gold video. But as long as we're here...)
Not to do the d-nag name drop thing, but after deciding that their "The Show" album was one of the best of 2010, I've gotten to know Houston crew The Niceguys' camp and a couple weeks ago I got to hear a rough cut of new track "Ari Gold" and said two things:
1) Everyone's going to think that opening line is a shot at the Kidz in the Hall (it's not).
2) This is dope as hell.
Between the constantly fluctuating production styles (how different is this than "Not At All"?) and Easy Yves Saint's always on point rhymes - or in this case, rhymes from Easy's alter ego Chevy Lauren - The Niceguys are shattering the definition of what is means to be a hip-hop crew. Who says there's nothing creative coming out of the South?
Keep it locked for more info about their forthcoming James Kelly EP.
