Slum Village & De La Soul Are A Match Made In Collaboration Heaven On “Turnin Me Off” (Listen)

You really can't expect anything less than classic material on a track that features both Slum Village and the great De La Soul. And that's precisely what you get on "Turnin Me Off" which features both the iconic groups. I love it when a group like De La Soul, which was formed in the late 80's, can release music in the year 2012 and not have to conform to the way music sounds now to release a dope song. No matter how iconic they may be I don't think I could stand the thought of a De La song featuring someone like Rick Ross and produced by Swizz Beatz. I think it would throw off the whole equilibrium of Hip-Hop.

"Turnin Me Off" takes on a bit of a "Bonita Applebum" revisited approach. Well that is if Bonita had taken a fall for the worse. Despite the somewhat dismal content of the song the beat on "Turnin Me Off" jams pretty hard. It sounds like it'd be perfect for riding around with the top-down, cruising the streets, enjoying some unseasonably warm weather.
