“Slow It Down” & Appreciate How Dope Oddisee’s Latest Is (Listen & Download)

I know it'd be more fun to read me making a bunch of Rick Ross man boob jokes, or break down Drake's QG freestyle, or talk about some other rapper we all know, but there's a ton of dope underground shit coming out today, and that's what I'm feeling, so fuck it, I'm gonna post Oddisee's "Slow It Down".

The DMV native's rhymes are on point, but it's the production on "Slow It Down' that really grabbed me. Holy shit. I haven't heard anything like this is a long time, if ever. That beat sounds like the opening score of a Spike Jonze movie. It doesn't hit you over the head with its dopeness, but this is one of the more well-crafted beats I've heard in a minute.

So yeah, I really fucking dig this beat, if you can't tell.
