Real Music for Real Women: RoQ’y TyRaid’s “Her Bourne Identity” (Listen & Download)

Having a daughter has really changed the way I listen to hip-hop. Not only did I Cam'ron-style strip club in my basement, but I'm now constantly on the search for hip-hop I can play around the house without worrying that it will cause my daughter to end up in a Tyga video someday. Or even better, make her actually learn something and find some strength in the music (imagine that).

So not only am I posting RoQ'y TyRaid's "Her Bourne Identity" because it's exactly the kind of hip-hop I want my daughter to hear, but it also sounds dope as hell. A young L.A. emcee with obvious intentions of making music that means something, for "Bourne Identity" Tyraid grabs Jimmy Flight for an understated beat that allows lyricism to rightfully take center stage.

There's a time and a place for Juicy J, but there's also a time and place to actually devote a couple brain cells to a track. That time is now. "Her Bourne Identity" is the first leak off 2WordsToTheTop and FamCo Clothing's 'Intelligent Design" mixtape, set to drop in April. Keep it locked for more dopeness leading up to the release.
