It would probably be a tremendous understatement to say that singer Rita Ora has great backing behind her, but despite that push I still haven't found myself terribly impressed with the music she's released thus far. Unfortunately, a Jay-Z cosign doesn't immediately guarantee a slew of hit records. But with the release of Ora's newest single, "Love & War," the Roc Nation rookie has finally linked up with fellow label mate J. Cole and I have to say that I'm kind of impressed with the end result.

Compared with the extremely poppy "Party & Bulls**t", "Love & War" is much more of a laid back tune. With help from Cole, Ora goes on to sing about the high's and low's of love and the desire to make love and not war. With backing from the slightly techno-inspired production, Ora's vocals come across as quite bold on the record. My only major gripe with "Love & War" is that it lacks a verse from J. Cole which really makes no sense. He's featured on the hook and I'm sure there would have been room for an added verse, but nope no Cole verse this time.

Look out for Ora's self-titled album when it's released on August 27.
