This Is Officially the Official Video Breakdown of the Official “Monster” Video

Months after the video for Kanye West, Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Nicki Minaj’s “Monster” dropped an “official” version of the video has just been released. And although the official version merely includes some better lighting and a disclaimer for the overly sensitive it’s still worthy of a video breakdown.



0:03 – It’s art people. Just art! So quit yer yapping!

0:04 – Also, if you ever find yourself in a difficult situation just claim you were being artistic. Should work like a charm. It seems to do quite well for Kanye.

0:28 – So all they did to make this video “official” was add some better lighting and a disclaimer? They should have at least added the “Thriller” dance somewhere in the video.

0:41 – All that finger to face action (pause?) and no one managed to pick that booger out of Kanye’s nose?

0:57 – Ashy knuckles galore.

1:18 – I wonder if those are mannequins or real people. If they’re real people they’d be great for one of those freeze flash mobs.

1:30 – Now that is just creepy.

1:36 – “Mali-booyah” is delicious by the way.

2:36 – Is Jay-Z supposed to be one of the men in black? If so, that’d be very fitting for the video.

2:50 – Hmm, I don’t see any dead guys in this video…just saying.

3:11 – So he’s just going to completely ignore that poor, dead woman on the couch? So rude.

3:24 – Hipster Kanye does not belong in this video. Go back to SoHo.

3:34 – I find it a little odd that he’s holding that decapitated head like it’s a chic Hermes bag.

4:17 – This part bores me. Where’s the zombies? The creepy corpses? Rick Ross’ perky man boobs?

4:28 – This contortionist could probably land himself a pretty sweet gig at Cirque du Soleil.

5:00 – That ass is a mother fuckin’ monster…

5:08 – I think everyone could have done without the she-wolf. That’s just disturbing. And it’s a waste of a model. What’s the point of getting a pretty girl and then putting hair on her chest?

5:34 – Am I the only one who finds statues of angels quite frightening?

5:58 – So official.
