Nikkiya Reminisces About Her Days With Mary Jane On “When I Was High” (Listen & Download)

With so many Mary Jane loving Wiz Khalifa's in the rap game it's nice to hear someone who isn't glorifying the use of the drug and singer/songwriter Nikkiya does just that on "When I Was High." Rather than boast about getting a giddy high Nikkiya instead warns, "life seemed so damn good when I was high."

Nikkiya flaunts her soulful vocals on "When I Was High" and her sound seems to come naturally. She doesn't have to force her vocals or do anything extra to make the song sound good. "When I Was High" is the first release off of the singers debut project titled "SpeakHer." It's unclear when the project will be dropping, but it will consist of production solely from Will Power of Supahot Beats.

In preparation for the release of her "SpeakHer" project Nikkiya will take part in a free showcase at Atlanta's 595 North tomorrow, May 25.
